Head / Stem Splitting

 

General Information:

o Seen sometimes on vegetative variety like Quest
o Can happen at any stage but often seen at the 5th, 6th cluster
o Does not seem to cause any long term effect on the plant

Causes

o Crop is too vegetative
o Cold head due to:

o Aggressive ventilation
o Uneven air temperature in the greenhouse.

Prevention

o The easiest way to prevent split heads is to keep the plants balanced at any times.
o Vent carefully during cold days, especially in the morning
